Choosing an Aromatherapy Set
One of the best ways to get a good introduction to the world of scent is through an aromatherapy set. There are all kinds of sets on the market for body, bath and home. The basis behind the alternative healing method of aromatherapy is that certain scents create certain reactions in the brain and body. One example is a study several years back that showed peppermint and jasmine may boost productivity, lemon and other citrus fragrances boost happiness and green apple may help alleviate headache pain.
Essential oils are frequently used in aromatherapy. These are oils that are undiluted and come straight from their botanical source, 100% natural. Some of them can be quite expensive. There are more comprehensive and expensive scents for those who want to experiment further or try out their own fragrance blends. Essential oil cannot be applied directly to the skin, it requires dilution in carrier oil. In an oil or perfume base, it is possible to create customized scents using one of these multi-oil kits.
